About Jenny Lewis

Jenny Lewis, an acclaimed singer-songwriter and former frontwoman of the indie band Rilo Kiley, has established herself as a compelling solo artist known for her heartfelt storytelling and genre-blending sound. Born in 1976, Lewis first gained recognition through her work with Rilo Kiley before embarking on a solo career distinguished by emotional depth and sonic versatility.

Her fifth solo album, "Joy’All" (2023), marks a new milestone in her artistic journey. Released under Blue Note/Capitol Records, the album was recorded at Nashville’s iconic RCA Studio A and produced by eight-time GRAMMY winner Dave Cobb. Their collaboration began serendipitously during a visit to the band Lucius and blossomed as Lewis brought Cobb a collection of raw iPhone demos. "Joy’All" reflects a rich fusion of influences, blending classic soul, ’90s R&B, country, and traditional singer-songwriter elements into a warm, intimate live sound. The album’s standout single, "Puppy and a Truck," exemplifies Lewis’s gift for combining vivid storytelling with lush musical textures.

Beyond her solo work, Lewis has contributed to projects like The Postal Service and maintains a presence in acting, underscoring her multifaceted talents.
