808 State is a pioneering electronic music group that originated in Manchester in 1987, quickly establishing themselves as a defining force in the late ’80s and early ’90s acid house and Madchester scenes. Founded with Graham Massey as a key creative figure, the band became renowned for crafting immersive, futuristic soundscapes that seamlessly blend alternative dance and house music influences. Their sound is often described as “imaginary landscapes of futurism,” inviting listeners to explore innovative sonic territories while honoring the rich musical heritage of their hometown.
