About Álex Ubago

Álex Ubago, born in Vitoria-Gasteiz and raised in San Sebastián, is one of Spain’s most cherished romantic singer-songwriters. He burst onto the music scene with his debut album "¿Qué Pides Tú?" (2001), followed by "Fantasía o Realidad" (2003), both of which earned double diamond certifications for selling over two million copies worldwide. These records established him as a major force in Latin pop and ballad music.

Known for his heartfelt and melodic storytelling, Ubago has crafted timeless ballads like "Aunque no te pueda ver," "Sin miedo a nada"—voted Spain’s best love song by radio listeners—"Estar contigo," and "A gritos de esperanza." His emotionally rich compositions have resonated deeply with audiences across Spain, Latin America, the United States, and even Japan, solidifying his international reputation.

In 2011, Álex Ubago’s artistic excellence was recognized with a Latin Grammy Award for Best Album, largely thanks to the success of "Calle Ilusión," which features the hit "Estar contigo." To celebrate two decades in music, he released "Álex Ubago 20 Años," a retrospective album featuring reimagined hits alongside notable guest artists.
