Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have established themselves as a cornerstone of contemporary Americana and country rock through their deeply personal storytelling and dynamic musicianship. Rooted in northern Alabama, the band’s rise began amidst relentless touring schedules, with over 200 shows yearly, leading frontman Jason Isbell to pause and reflect in 2010. This introspective period fueled the creation of the critically acclaimed album "Here We Rest" (2011), which captured vivid portraits of war veterans, barflies, and hardworking folks facing economic hardship in their hometown.

The turning point for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit came with Isbell’s journey to sobriety, inspiring the evocative "Southeastern" (2013). This album marked a major breakthrough, earning widespread praise for its raw honesty and themes of redemption. Building on that momentum, "Something More Than Free" (2015) earned the band a Grammy Award for Best Americana Album, solidifying their place in the genre. In 2017, the release of "The Nashville Sound" showcased a more collaborative and band-driven approach, blending diverse musical textures and spotlighting the full 400 Unit lineup.
