About the GazettE

The GazettE is a pioneering Japanese rock band formed on March 10, 2002, comprising vocalist Ruki, guitarists Uruha and Aoi, bassist Reita, and drummer Kai. They are widely recognized as leading figures in Japan’s Visual-kei movement—a distinctive subculture that fuses aggressive rock soundscapes with elaborate visual aesthetics. This unique blend has propelled the GazettE to both critical and commercial success, with all nine of their studio albums charting within Japan’s top 10 since 2005.

Beginning their career in intimate Tokyo venues, the GazettE quickly rose to prominence, marking key milestones such as their first performance at the iconic Nippon Budokan in 2006, and later selling out the prestigious Tokyo Dome in 2010. Known for their energetic and theatrical live shows, they have built a reputation that resonates not only in Japan but worldwide. Their international breakthrough came with a world tour in 2013, followed by ambitious global tours in 2016 and 2019, reaching 22 cities across 13 countries.

Beyond touring, the GazettE has consistently participated in multi-genre music festivals, showcasing their versatility and expanding their global fanbase. Their enduring influence and dynamic stage presence continue to inspire fans and artists alike, cementing the GazettE’s legacy as one of Japan’s most influential and enduring rock bands.
