About Rosas

Rosas is a contemporary neo-trova singer-songwriter from Culiacán, Sinaloa, whose music uniquely blends trip hop, folk, and poetic lyricism. Their artistic journey began early through theater and performance art, which deeply influenced their expressive and experimental style. Drawing from diverse influences like Fado, Bossa Nova, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Björk, Juana Molina, and modern Mexican poetry, Rosas forges a fresh path that honors traditional trova while pushing creative boundaries.

Following the acclaimed album *Casi Música* (year unspecified), Rosas continued evolving their sound with projects celebrating modern songwriting and free verbal expression. Now based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the artist actively collaborates with the multidisciplinary collective Arrogante Albino, combining music, performance, and visual arts. Their joint 2022 release, *Cancionero de la Sexual Disidencia Tapatía*, marks a significant milestone in Rosas’s career.

Throughout their trajectory, Rosas has shared stages with prominent figures in the Mexican alternative scene, including Julieta Venegas, Porter, Caloncho, Elsa y Elmar, David Aguilar, Jonathan Bree, and Mabe Fratti. This notable presence reflects Rosas’s role in shaping Mexico’s vibrant new wave of singer-songwriters, offering audiences a profound blend of tradition, innovation, and poetic depth.
