About Gaia

Gaia is a compelling electronic music project formed by two influential figures in the trance scene: DJ and producer Armin van Buuren and producer Benno de Goeij, known for his work with the legendary act Rank 1. Both artists have left an indelible mark on electronic music since the 1990s, with van Buuren recognized for his classic track "Communication," and de Goeij celebrated for anthems like "Airwave" and "Such Is Life." Their collaboration, which began in 2006, evolved into Gaia—a creative alter ego that allows them to push the boundaries of traditional trance and experiment with innovative, atmospheric soundscapes.

Gaia’s debut album, "Moons of Jupiter" (2019), exemplifies their progressive approach, blending immersive textures and layered compositions that appeal to listeners seeking a deeper, more nuanced musical experience. Beyond studio work, Gaia is renowned for captivating live performances that transport audiences through otherworldly journeys, reflecting their shared passion for sonic exploration.

The project serves as a testament to van Buuren and de Goeij’s versatility, offering a fresh perspective while honoring their trance roots. Gaia’s music invites fans into a richly interconnected universe where creativity flourishes beyond genre limits, making it a standout force in modern electronic music.
