About Paul Elstak

Paul Elstak, born in 1966 in the Netherlands, is a seminal figure in the evolution of Happy Hardcore and hardcore techno music. As a pioneering DJ and producer, he made a defining impact when he founded Rotterdam Records in 1992 under Mid-Town Records. Elstak’s breakthrough came in 1995 with his debut single "Life Is Like A Dance," which paved the way for a string of successful tracks throughout the 1990s. Hits like "Luv U More," "Don't Leave Me Alone," "The Promised Land," and "Rave On" solidified his presence in the Dutch Top 40 and the broader electronic dance music scene.

His most iconic anthem, "Rainbow In The Sky" (1997), became a cornerstone of the happy hardcore genre and continues to resonate with fans worldwide. The track’s enduring popularity was celebrated with a landmark 25th-anniversary concert at Arnhem’s Gelredome, drawing over 25,000 attendees. Beyond Europe, Paul Elstak commands a loyal global audience spanning Australia, the USA, and Japan.

Elstak’s versatility shines through his work beyond traditional rave music. In 2010, he composed the title track for the film *New Kids Turbo*, earning a Rembrandt Award and a gold record in 2011. Reinventing his sound for modern audiences, he collaborated in 2017 with rapper Jebroer and producer Dr Phunk on hits like "Kind Van De Duivel" and "Engeltje." These tracks achieved impressive commercial success, with "Kind Van De Duivel" going triple Platinum in the Netherlands and Gold in Belgium, while "Engeltje" reached double Platinum status.

Decades into his career, Paul Elstak remains an influential and dynamic force in electronic dance music, continually reinventing himself while honoring his hardcore roots.
