About Kamelia

Kamelia is a celebrated Romanian pop-dance singer and songwriter who embarked on her musical journey at the age of 14. She began as a member of the band D.G.TAL, which she formed with her brother, George Hora—a respected composer and producer known for his work at Studio 66 Records. Kamelia first gained widespread recognition as a finalist on the Romanian talent show *Megastar* in 2006, marking the start of her ascent in the national music scene.

Early in her career, she toured extensively across Romania, offering backing vocals for prominent artists such as Smiley and CRBL from the band Simplu. Kamelia’s breakthrough as a solo artist came with her debut single "Dreamin'," followed by notable collaborations with Puya and George Hora. Her 2009 track "Change" became a chart-topping hit, quickly solidifying her presence in Romanian pop music. In 2010, she reunited with Puya for the popular single "Vip," further boosting her profile.

Between 2010 and 2017, Kamelia released a series of viral songs including "Prima Oara," "Piesa Mea Preferata," and "Come Again." During this period, she collaborated with artists such as Vescan, Voltaj, and Hi-Q, showcasing her versatility and broad appeal. In 2015, Kamelia signed with the leading Romanian label Cat Music, where she embraced reggaeton influences. Hits like "Amor," "Suave," and "Cuidado" marked a fresh creative chapter, with "Amor" becoming her most successful single, surpassing 100 million views on YouTube and accumulating over 4.5 million streams on Spotify.

Known for her charismatic stage presence and distinct voice, Kamelia has also attracted attention with live covers on YouTube, notably her rendition of "Stand By Me." Her style and popularity earned her a spot among FHM Romania’s “Top 100 Sexiest Women” in 2014, along with a Fans Like Award nomination at the Media Music Awards the same year. Today, Kamelia remains a significant figure in Romania's music landscape, blending catchy pop melodies with urban and dance rhythms.
