About Arpaviejas

Arpaviejas emerged in the early 2000s as a powerful voice within the punk scene, beginning his musical journey with a borrowed guitar and amplifier. What started as a solo project by JR quickly evolved into a full-fledged band, defined by raw energy and a rebellious spirit. In 2001, Arpaviejas recorded two demos, "A Rienda Suelta" and "Propaganda Electoral," which earned early acclaim and motivated the formation of a complete lineup that released the demo "La Papela" in 2002.

With relentless touring across the Iberian Peninsula, the band built a devoted following, captivating audiences even in remote venues. Their breakthrough came in 2004 with the release of "Ladrón de Almas," anchored by the standout track "Ahora Me Importa Una Mierda," which significantly boosted their popularity and concert bookings. In 2008, while working on "En Son de Paz," Arpaviejas expanded their reach beyond Spain, performing in Colombia’s key cities Bogotá and Medellín for the first time.

Following a decade-long hiatus after "Ladrón de Almas," Arpaviejas made a dynamic return on July 7, 2017, with "El último cartucho," a release that reaffirmed their dedication to punk ethos and re-energized their fanbase. Throughout their career, Arpaviejas has maintained an authentic, street-level approach, making them a lasting force in Spanish punk music.
