About Mattia Prete

Berlin-based Italian producer Mattia Prete has carved a distinctive niche in electronic music by blending pulsating techno and electronica with the rich textures of jazz and live instrumentation. Since launching his career in 2020 with the debut album "Moon, Please Don’t Go Away" on his own Jazzotech label, Prete has developed a sound that transcends traditional genre boundaries, fusing complex rhythms with organic elements.

Prete’s discography includes the vinyl EP "Life Is Waiting" (2020) released via the experimental Faith Disciplines label, alongside standout singles like "Palettes" and "Zamovliannia," the latter featuring collaborations with classical musicians from the Philharmonie in Dnipro. His most ambitious project to date is the double LP series "This is Techno Jazz Vol. 1 and Vol. 2," a groundbreaking compilation uniting electronic innovators such as Stanislav Tolkachev, Reeko, and Fabrizio Rat with jazz ensembles like Finnish duo Aki Himanen & Aleksi Kinnunen and Turin’s TUN – Torino Unlimited Noise.

Beyond his studio work, Prete is renowned for dynamic live performances and wide-ranging DJ sets that artfully navigate between modern classical, broken beat, techno, and jazz. His masterful use of silence and shifting grooves heightens musical tension and flow. This innovative fusion also inspired a celebrated party series at iconic Berlin venues such as Kantine Am Berghain and Sage Beach, featuring influential artists including Matthew Herbert and Studnitzky, further cementing Mattia Prete’s reputation as a visionary artist and curator in the contemporary electronic scene.
