About 2 Unlimited

2 Unlimited stands as one of the most iconic Dutch Eurodance acts that defined the early 1990s dance music scene across Europe. Formed in 1990 by Belgian producers Phil Wilde and Jean-Paul DeCoster, the group quickly rose to fame after discovering Amsterdam-born rapper Ray Slijngaard (b. June 28, 1971) and vocalist Anita Doth (b. December 28, 1971). Their high-energy blend of techno, dance-pop, and Eurodance beats captured the spirit of the decade’s club culture.

The breakthrough hit "Get Ready for This" (1991) put 2 Unlimited on the map, reaching number two in several European charts and becoming a staple at sporting events and dance venues worldwide. Their 1993 album "No Limits" marked the peak of their commercial success. The title track topped charts in 15 countries, including Canada, and the album featured other major singles like "Faces," "Maximum Overdrive," and "Let the Beat Control Your Body." Following this, the 1994 album "Real Things" sustained their momentum with hits such as "The Real Thing," "No One," and "Here I Go."

Throughout their career, 2 Unlimited sold over 18 million records and achieved the impressive feat of 11 consecutive number-one singles in the UK alone. After the release of their compilation "Hits Unlimited," Slijngaard pursued his X-Ray label, while Doth explored television and radio ventures, occasionally returning to music through collaborations, including work with artists like Mad Cobra. Today, 2 Unlimited’s dynamic sound and chart-topping hits continue to influence the Eurodance genre, securing their legacy as pioneers of 1990s dance music culture.
