About Peter Doherty

Peter Doherty stands as a seminal figure in British indie rock and folk, renowned for his poetic lyricism and distinctive melodic style. Over more than two decades, he has crafted an expansive body of work across multiple projects, including four influential albums with The Libertines. From their breakthrough *Up The Bracket* (2002) to the reflective *All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade* (2024), the band played a pivotal role in defining early-2000s indie rock. Doherty also fronted Babyshambles, releasing three albums that further showcased his raw emotional storytelling and musical versatility.

His solo career highlights the evolution of his artistry, with releases like *Grace/Wastelands* (2009) and *Hamburg Demonstrations* (2016) offering intimate glimpses into his creative mind. In 2019, he ventured into new territory with Peter Doherty & The Puta Madres, blending folk, country, and indie influences. Most recently, Doherty’s fifth solo album, *Felt Better Alive* (2024), reflects his most confident and richly textured work yet. Recorded in the peaceful Normandy countryside—his current home with his family—and produced alongside Mike Moore (known for collaborations with Baxter Dury and Liam Gallagher), this album melds acoustic warmth with orchestral layers, exploring indie-folk and country soundscapes.

Beyond music, Doherty’s creative expression extends to poetry, painting, and collaborative projects like *The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime* (2022), which he crafted with Frederic Lo.
