About James Blunt

James Blunt, born in 1974 in Tidworth, Wiltshire, England, is a distinguished British singer-songwriter renowned for his soft rock style and emotive lyrics. Raised in a military family, Blunt served six years as a British Army officer, reaching the rank of captain and participating in NATO peacekeeping missions in Kosovo. In 2002, he left the military to pursue a music career, quickly gaining international fame with his 2004 debut album, "Back to Bedlam." The album’s standout single, "You're Beautiful," soared to the top of charts worldwide, securing Blunt’s place as a global music sensation and helping make "Back to Bedlam" the UK’s best-selling album in 2005.

Blunt's follow-up albums solidified his success, with "All the Lost Souls" (2007) featuring the UK number one hit "1973," and "Some Kind of Trouble" (2010) showcasing a more upbeat sound. His 2013 album "Moon Landing" produced the folk-tinged single "Bonfire Heart," also reaching number one in the UK. Later, "The Afterlove" (2017) highlighted collaborations with prominent artists like Ed Sheeran and Ryan Tedder, while 2019’s "Once Upon a Mind" revealed a polished pop direction with deeply personal themes. In 2021, he compiled his greatest hits in "The Stars Beneath My Feet (2004-2021)," including unreleased tracks. His seventh studio album, "Who We Used to Be" (2023), continued to showcase his timeless melodic style, anchored by the single "Beside You."
