About Five

Five emerged as one of the UK’s most dynamic pop groups in 1997, captivating audiences with their debut single, "Slam Dunk Da Funk." Formed that summer by the same innovative management team behind the Spice Girls, the band featured J Brown, Sean Conlon, Abz Love, Ritchie Neville, and Scott Robinson. Their sound blended catchy pop hooks with a fresh, urban edge, helping them stand out in the late ’90s boy band landscape.

Their self-titled debut album, "5ive" (1998), instantly climbed to number one on the UK charts and produced six hit singles that resonated on both sides of the Atlantic. Notably, the group broke into the competitive US market, with several singles entering the Billboard Hot 100’s top 30. Five’s infectious energy and chart success earned them multiple accolades, including a Brit Award, an MTV Music Award, and six Smash Hits Poll Winners Party Awards by 2000.

Expanding their global footprint, Five performed in front of a staggering 500,000 fans at Brazil’s iconic Rock in Rio festival in 2001. That same year, their third album also secured a number one spot, cementing their place in pop history. After years of international success and memorable chart-toppers, the group went on hiatus, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most influential British boy bands of their era.
