About Awen

Awen is a compelling singer, songwriter, and live performer celebrated for her rich French-Senegalese heritage and distinctive voice. Raised across various cities in France before relocating to Asia in her twenties, she spent over a decade honing her craft through classical music training. Awen’s musical journey took a defining turn when she settled in Hong Kong in 2015, emerging as a captivating vocalist before fully embracing songwriting in 2019.

Her debut came with the collaborative single "Kusimama" alongside Floyd Lavine, setting the stage for a series of acclaimed releases such as "Gold" featuring Daniel Rateuke, "Your Voice" with Caiiro, and "In Your Eyes" featuring Liva K. All of these were released under the Thessaloniki-based label Madorasindahouse, reflecting a sophisticated blend of downtempo and electronic influences.

Awen’s first full-length album, *Redemption* (2019), includes collaborations with artists like Enoo Napa and Liva K, with Cehashi guiding its artistic direction. The album’s atmospheric soundscapes inspired two remix EPs featuring producers like Xinobi, Dodi Palese, Hyenah, and Monkey Safari. Notably, the Adam Port remix of "Your Voice" propelled Awen to international recognition, leading to live performances alongside Keinemusik in Paris. Continuing her artistic evolution, Awen remains active with fresh collaborations, including upcoming original work with Daniel Rateuke, solidifying her place within the global electronic music scene.
