About John Talabot

John Talabot, born Oriol Riverola in Barcelona in 1982, is a renowned Spanish electronic music producer and DJ celebrated for his refined approach to house music. Initially performing under aliases like Oriol D.a.r.y.l., he adopted the John Talabot moniker in 2009 with the release of his breakthrough three-track EP "My Old School" on Germany’s Permanent Vacation label. This debut established his signature style: atmospheric, understated house tunes that resonate in both intimate clubs and large festival stages.

Following this, Talabot launched the single "Sunshine" on his own imprint, Hivern Discs, further solidifying his presence in the electronic scene. Between 2010 and 2011, he expanded his reach with critically acclaimed singles on prestigious labels such as Young Turks, while becoming a sought-after remixer for artists including Tahiti 80 and Teengirl Fantasy. His debut album, "ƒIN" (2012), featured collaborations with vocalists Pional and Ekhi and was later enhanced by remixes from Bullion and Pachanga Boys, showcasing his collaborative spirit.

In 2013, Talabot teamed up with Swedish producer Axel Boman under the alias Talaboman, releasing the track "Sideral" which later appeared on their 2014 single via Hivern and Studio Barnhus. Continuing to innovate, he released singles like "Without You" (2015) and "Voices" (2016) before unveiling his second full-length album, "The Night Land" (2017), on R&S Records. Recognized as a pivotal figure within Spanish electronic music, John Talabot’s evolving sound blends subtle rhythms with emotive depth, cementing his lasting influence on the global house music landscape.
