About Alejandro Sanz

Alejandro Sanz, born Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro on December 18, 1968, in Madrid to Andalusian parents, is Spain’s most commercially successful singer and a global icon in Latin music. Influenced early on by his father, a professional guitarist, Sanz began performing in local venues as a teenager. His career launched in 1989 with the album *Los Chulos Son Pa' Cuidarlos* under the pseudonym Alejandro Magno, but his breakthrough arrived with *Viviendo de Prisa* (1991), which topped Spanish charts and established him as a leading voice in romantic ballads.

Sanz’s international fame skyrocketed with the 1997 album *Más*, especially its hit single "Corazón Partío," one of the most successful Spanish pop songs ever recorded. Throughout the 2000s, he expanded his sound with albums like *No Es Lo Mismo* (2003), where he experimented with rap and electronica, earning critical acclaim and a Latin Grammy. Collaborations played a key role in his global reach, notably co-writing and performing with superstars such as Shakira on the Grammy-winning "La Tortura" (2005) and working with Alicia Keys on *Paraíso Express* (2009).

Sanz continued to evolve with *El Tren de los Momentos* (2006), *La Música No Se Toca* (2012), *Sirope* (2015), and *#ElDisco* (2019), each album reinforcing his status with multiple Latin Grammy wins and chart-topping success across Spain and Latin America. Celebrating over three decades in music, Alejandro Sanz released the self-titled *Sanz* in 2021, the same year he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His seamless blend of heartfelt lyrics, diverse musical influences, and high-profile collaborations has solidified his legacy as a timeless figure in Latin music worldwide.
