About Ell Murphy

London-based DJ, producer, and vocalist Ell Murphy has quickly risen to prominence in the UK dance music scene through her captivating fusion of soulful house and garage. Renowned for her unique live performances, where she sings live while spinning, Murphy brings a vibrant energy that has earned her a coveted residency on Rinse FM and recognition as one of Clash Magazine’s ‘On the Cusp of Greatness’ in 2023.

Murphy’s music showcases her versatility as she seamlessly blends vocal-driven melodies with infectious dancefloor rhythms. Her solo single "Good2Me" (2023) received critical acclaim, securing a spot in Beatport’s ‘50 Best Tracks of 2023’ and gaining widespread support from influential platforms like BBC Radio 1 Dance, BBC Introducing, Mixmag, and Resident Advisor. Beyond her solo work, she has collaborated with emerging UK talents such as TSHA, Giulia Tess, and Mafro, releasing tracks on respected labels including Ninja Tune, Shall Not Fade, and Locked On.

Her dynamic presence extends to live festivals and tours, having performed at major events like Glastonbury, Love Saves the Day, Field Day, and Waterworks. She has also supported established artists including Antony Szmierek, Interplanetary Criminal, Sammy Virji, and Ewan McVicar during sold-out UK tours, solidifying her reputation as a powerful live act. As Ell Murphy prepares to release a new EP and embarks on further UK tour dates and summer festival appearances, she continues to be a defining figure in the evolution of contemporary dance music.
