About Cecilia Zango

Cecilia Zango is a distinguished Spanish artist known for her unique fusion of Extremaduran folk roots with global musical influences and contemporary urban sounds. Born in Cáceres, she began her musical journey at the age of nine, studying both violin and guitar. Her formal education continued at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, where she deepened her classical training while simultaneously earning a degree in History and Music Sciences. This blend of rigorous academic background and cultural heritage has shaped her into a versatile composer, classical guitarist, and singer.

Zango has gained considerable acclaim for her innovative approach to music, seamlessly bridging tradition and modernity. Her artistry has been recognized with notable accolades such as the POP EYE Award for Best Extremaduran Artist, the PME Tribute Award, and first prizes in prestigious guitar competitions including the XV Young Musicians of Extremadura and the III José Antonio Peñalosa Guitar Contest in Seville. Over the years, she has performed at major Spanish festivals like Mallorca Live Festival, Etnosur, and WOMAD, captivating audiences with her dynamic stage presence and genre-defying sound.

In 2022, Cecilia Zango released her debut EP, "Malabreva," which laid the foundation for her evolving sound. This was followed by her first full-length album, "Exótica" (2025), further establishing her as a pioneering voice in the fusion of folkloric traditions with cutting-edge production techniques. Today, Cecilia Zango continues to push the boundaries of music, positioning herself as one of Spain’s most exciting emerging talents in cross-genre innovation.
