About CHICA SOBRESALTO

Maialen, better known as CHICA SOBRESALTO, is a distinguished Spanish singer-songwriter and instrumentalist born in 1994 in Atarrabia, Navarra. From a young age, she nurtured a deep passion for music, honing her skills through songwriting and sharing her early work on YouTube while performing intimate local gigs. Her self-released debut album, "Sobresalto" (2017), marked the beginning of her professional journey, though widespread recognition came later.

CHICA SOBRESALTO’s breakthrough occurred in 2020 when she reached the semifinals of the renowned talent show *Operación Triunfo* before its unexpected pause. That summer, she gained nationwide attention with an acoustic tour and the viral release of "Fusión del Núcleo," which amassed over a million streams in its first week alone. Building on this momentum, her 2021 album "Sinápsis" received critical acclaim and topped Spanish charts with its elegant and introspective style. Continuing her artistic evolution, she released "Oráculo" in 2023, another critically praised record that secured prominent chart positions.

Beyond her albums, CHICA SOBRESALTO expanded her creative footprint with two EPs, "Canciones que nunca llegarán a serlo," and engaged with a wider audience through national radio, podcasts, and commissioned compositions. Today, she stands as a dynamic and influential voice in contemporary Spanish music, blending heartfelt lyricism with refined musicality to captivate diverse audiences.
