About Little River Band

Formed in Melbourne in 1975, Little River Band quickly rose to prominence as one of the defining vocal groups of the 1970s and 1980s. Comprising experienced Australian musicians drawn from various successful acts, the band crafted a sophisticated sound marked by rich vocal harmonies, intricate guitar arrangements, and compelling songwriting. Their strategic goal was to break into the competitive American music market—a mission they achieved with remarkable success.

Between 1977 and 1982, Little River Band made history by earning Top 10 hits on the US charts for six consecutive years, a feat unmatched by any other group during that era. Iconic tracks such as "Reminiscing" and "Lady" became staples on American radio, with "Reminiscing" surpassing five million airplays and "Lady" close behind, according to BMI. This sustained popularity solidified their reputation beyond Australian shores.

Little River Band's impact was formally recognized when they were inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame in 2004. More recently, the group was honored as "Musical Act of the Year" at the Global Gaming Expo in 2015, underscoring their enduring influence. Today, the band continues to breathe new life into their timeless catalog during live performances while also working on fresh material, ensuring their legacy remains vibrant and relevant for contemporary audiences worldwide.
