About Mastretta

Nacho Mastretta, born in Barcelona and raised in Santander, Spain, began his musical career in the early 1980s working as a sound technician while composing music for fashion shows and runway events. In 1987, he founded the Caribbean pop group Las Manos de Orlac, which gained recognition across Spain and Europe with albums like "La Furia" (1988), "Salud" (1989), and "Pesetas" (1989). Transitioning to a solo career, Mastretta released "La Vida Fácil" (1992), marking the start of his distinctive blend of jazz, electronica, and rock.

His debut solo album, "Melodías de Rayos X" (1998), introduced listeners to his innovative sound. Building on this, the ambitious "Luna de Miel" (2000) featured eleven songs, each performed by different female vocalists from around the world, showcasing his global musical vision. Influenced by legendary composers such as Nino Rota, Henry Mancini, and Cole Porter, Mastretta expanded his reach by signing with Minty Fresh Records in the U.S., releasing "Music for Automobiles" (2001) in Spain followed by his self-titled American debut in 2002.

Beyond his albums, Mastretta has earned acclaim for composing award-winning film scores and remixing tracks for alternative Latin artists. Through his diverse collaborations and genre-defying style, Nacho Mastretta remains a versatile and influential figure in contemporary Spanish music, celebrated for his inventive approach and international appeal.
