About 夏川りみ

Rimi Natsukawa, born in 1973 in Okinawa, is one of Japan’s most beloved vocalists, known for her soothing voice and heartfelt performances that seamlessly blend traditional Japanese folk with contemporary pop. She rose to national fame with her 2001 breakthrough single "Nada Sousou," a song that remains iconic in Japanese music history. This success earned her six appearances on NHK’s esteemed year-end music show, Kouhaku Uta Gassen, solidifying her status as a staple in Japan’s music scene.

Beyond Japan, Natsukawa has captivated audiences across Asia, performing in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and Vietnam, as well as reaching international listeners in Brazil and Peru. Her music’s universal appeal lies in its emotive storytelling and evocative melodies, bridging cultural divides and celebrating Okinawa’s rich musical heritage. In 2021, she released the cover album "Akari," further demonstrating her versatility and artistic growth.
