About Saba

Chicago-born rapper and musician Saba has emerged as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary hip-hop, known for his authentic storytelling and innovative production. His musical journey began at the tender age of nine, when he started honing his craft in a makeshift recording studio built in his grandmother’s basement on Chicago’s Westside. There, he and his friends formed the influential collective Pivot Gang, which laid the foundation for his artistic growth.

Saba’s breakthrough arrived with his critically acclaimed 2018 album, *CARE FOR ME*, a deeply personal project that transformed intimate experiences into universal narratives. He followed this with *Few Good Things* (2022), an introspective album exploring themes of generational dialogue, community, and Black empowerment. This release was accompanied by a critically praised film directed by C.T. Robert, which further showcased Saba’s multidimensional creativity.

His career has been marked by significant collaborations. In 2019, Saba earned his first RIAA Gold certification for “Sacrifices” on the Dreamville compilation *Revenge of the Dreamers III*, curated by J. Cole. That same year, he joined forces with Noname and Smino to form the Midwest supergroup Ghetto Sage, releasing the standout single “Häagen Dazs.” Additionally, his 2016 single “Photosynthesis” achieved Gold status in 2022, reinforcing his growing influence.

Looking ahead, Saba continues to innovate with the forthcoming *thee(TAPE)* (2023), a collaborative mixtape with legendary producer No I.D., blending vivid storytelling with masterful production. Through his rich narratives and collaborative spirit, Saba remains a vital and evolving force in hip-hop.
