About Salvador Sobral

Salvador Sobral is a distinguished Portuguese singer celebrated for his soulful voice and deep jazz influences. Born in Portugal, he enriched his musical perspective by living in the USA, Mallorca, and Barcelona, where he honed his jazz studies before launching his solo career. Sobral first attracted widespread attention with his debut album, *Excuse Me* (2016), but it was his victory at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with the tender ballad "Amar pelos Dois"—written by his sister Luísa Sobral—that catapulted him to international fame, setting a new record for the highest score in the competition’s history.

Following this breakthrough, Salvador Sobral released *Paris, Lisboa* (2019), an album that showcased his versatile style and led to a global tour. In 2021, he unveiled his third studio album, *bpm*, further expanding his musical range. The intimate EP *SAL* (2022), featuring stripped-back piano and voice arrangements, revealed a more personal side of his artistry. His fourth album, *TIMBRE* (2023), includes notable collaborations with acclaimed artists such as Jorge Drexler and Silvana Estrada, highlighting his commitment to exploring diverse musical languages.

In a historic moment in February 2024, Sobral became the first Portuguese artist invited to perform at the prestigious Goya Awards, sharing the stage with Silvia Pérez Cruz. Revered by legends like Caetano Veloso, who regards him as one of the greatest vocalists alive today, Salvador Sobral remains a defining figure in contemporary Portuguese music, blending heartfelt emotion with rich jazz sensibilities.
