Born in 1977 in Putney, London, to parents of Indian and South African descent, Hebden initially gained recognition as a member of the post-rock band Fridge before launching his influential solo career. An alumnus of the University of Manchester, Four Tet has consistently pushed the boundaries of electronic music by blending folktronica, intelligent dance music, and ambient soundscapes into a distinctive sonic signature.
