About Counting Crows

Counting Crows, the Grammy and Academy Award-nominated rock band formed in 1991 in Berkeley, California, have left an indelible mark on alternative rock with their soulful and intricately crafted sound. Led by frontman Adam Duritz’s evocative songwriting, they broke into the mainstream with their multi-platinum debut album, "August and Everything After" (1993). Over more than three decades, the band has released seven studio albums and sold upwards of 20 million records worldwide, solidifying their status as one of the most respected live touring acts in rock music.

Their critical and commercial success soared further with the 2004 single "Accidentally in Love," featured in the blockbuster animated film Shrek 2. This catchy track earned Counting Crows nominations for the Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Grammy for Best Original Song, highlighting their versatility beyond traditional rock realms. Billboard recognized their lasting influence by ranking them No. 8 on the 2021 "Greatest of All Time: Adult Alternative 25th Anniversary Chart."

After nearly seven years away from releasing new music, Counting Crows returned with "Butter Miracle, Suite One" (2021), a four-track, 19-minute suite produced by Brian Deck and released through BMG. Known for their timeless storytelling and compelling performances, Counting Crows continue to captivate audiences, maintaining their legacy as a cornerstone of alternative rock history.
