About Benito Kamelas

Benito Kamelas is a Spanish rock band that originated in 1997 in Benetússer, Valencia, following the breakup of two local groups, Esclata and Rocktambulos. From the outset, they carved a niche with their raw, authentic rock sound infused with socially conscious themes—a signature that would define their enduring appeal. Their early work began with the demo "Qué más da" (1997), soon followed by five studio albums: "Cañas y Barras" (1999), "Por Costumbre" (2003), "Sin Trampa Ni Cartón" (2005), "Sueños Con Traje de Tinta" (2007), and "Buena Energía" (2011). These releases showcased the band’s ability to blend energetic rock rhythms with poignant, humanistic lyrics.

Benito Kamelas is equally renowned for their electrifying live performances, captured in two notable live recordings: "100% Benito Kamelas (Directo)" (2009), recorded across cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Murcia, and the DVD "Directo al Alma (Live)" (2015), filmed at Valencia’s iconic Rock City. Marking their 20th anniversary in 2017, they released "El Rincón de Mi Cabeza," an album that reaffirmed their commitment to socially aware rock infused with heartfelt storytelling.

A major turning point came in early 2020 when lineup changes left Quini as the sole original member directing a revitalized version of the band. This new era produced the critically acclaimed albums "Resiliencia" (2021) and "Justicia Poética" (2025), both widely embraced by fans and critics alike. Benito Kamelas continues to be a beacon of authentic Spanish rock music, evolving while maintaining the core values that propelled them to prominence.
