About RAYE

British singer-songwriter RAYE, born Rachel Keen in South London, has rapidly established herself as a dynamic force in contemporary music. Growing up in Tooting before moving to Croydon, she began her musical journey at age ten, inspired and guided by her father and a local guitar teacher. After attending the renowned BRIT School for two years, RAYE left in 2014 to pursue her own artistic vision, releasing her R&B-influenced debut EP "Welcome to the Winter" that same year.

RAYE first gained widespread attention through high-profile collaborations on UK Top 20 hits like Jonas Blue’s "By Your Side" and Jax Jones’ "You Don’t Know Me." Her versatile songwriting skills have also contributed to tracks for major artists such as Beyoncé, David Guetta, Charli XCX, and Ellie Goulding. Blending pop, R&B, rap, and dance elements, she revealed her evolving sound with the 2020 mini-album "Euphoric Sad Songs," which featured the UK Top Ten single "Secrets."

After parting ways with Polydor over creative differences, RAYE secured full artistic control by signing with Human Re Sources. This autonomy led to her breakthrough as a lead artist, culminating in her debut album "My 21st Century Blues" (2023), which climbed to number two on the UK charts. The album includes the chart-topping single "Escapism," featuring 070 Shake, marking her first UK number one. Recognized for her artistry and impact, RAYE won six awards at the 2024 BRIT Awards, including Artist of the Year. Continuing to captivate audiences, she recently released the ambitious single "Genesis" and a live album recorded with an orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall.
