About Tom VR

Leeds-based DJ and producer Tom VR has steadily gained recognition for his nuanced and emotive approach to electronic music. Emerging in 2017, he quickly made an impact by co-founding the Valby Rotary label with collaborators Louf and Jeigo. His debut EP, released as Valby Rotary’s second release, showcased his early mastery of steady four-to-the-floor rhythms, securing his foothold in the underground dance community.

Tom VR’s sound evolved notably with his 2018 debut album, *Films*, which expanded beyond conventional dance music through the integration of breakbeat and ambient textures. This progression demonstrated his willingness to push genre boundaries and craft immersive soundscapes that resonate both on the dancefloor and during solitary listening sessions. Further cementing his artistic identity, the *Frissons* EP followed on Seb Wildblood’s All My Thoughts label—the same imprint that later released *Films*—highlighting his affinity for thoughtfully produced tracks that blend rhythmic drive with emotional depth.

Throughout his career, Tom VR has struck a delicate balance between club functionality and introspective musicality. His work appeals to diverse audiences seeking both physical connection through dance and reflective engagement via headphones. By continually developing his sound and collaborating within a vibrant independent scene, Tom VR stands out as a distinctive voice in contemporary electronic music.
