About Reincidentes

Reincidentes is a seminal rock and punk band from Seville, Spain, widely recognized for their fearless social and political commentary woven into compelling music. Since their formation, Reincidentes have tackled an impressive range of provocative themes — including abortion rights, domestic abuse, communism, Andalusian identity, anti-capitalism, and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Their lyrics reflect a deep engagement with contemporary issues, marking them as a powerful voice in Spanish rock.

While rooted in punk energy and rebellious spirit, frontman Fernando Madina has clarified that the band identifies primarily as rock’n’roll musicians rather than being confined to punk or any single genre. This musical identity is complemented by their versatility: beyond original material, Reincidentes have adapted poems by esteemed Spanish poet Miguel Hernández and covered influential Latin American singer-songwriters such as León Gieco, Silvio Rodríguez, Víctor Jara, and Alí Primera.

Reincidentes’ most recent full-length album, "Vergüenza" (2017), continues their tradition of fusing passionate social messages with robust rock soundscapes. More recently, they have explored collaboration, releasing singles alongside other artists. This initiative launched with Sevillian musician Capitán Cobarde, who contributed the track "Los Hijos de la Calle" and reinterpreted their classic "Vicio," underscoring the band’s enduring influence and commitment to evolving their artistic expression. Throughout their career, Reincidentes have remained a vital and uncompromising force in Spanish music, blending activism with rock’n’roll ethos.
