About School Disco

School Disco is a dynamic psychedelic trio that emerged from Plymouth’s vibrant underground music scene in 2016. Founded by Rory Lethbridge, Troy Holt, and Laur Underwood, the band quickly carved out a reputation for their gritty, experimental sound and uncompromising DIY spirit. Their relentless live performances at renowned venues like The Underground and The Junction helped them cultivate a fiercely independent identity that blends raw energy with textured, psychedelic layers.

In late 2019, School Disco released their self-titled debut album through a collaboration of indie labels Hot Wax Records, Kraut-Pop!, and Copper Feast Records. The album garnered critical acclaim within indie circles and propelled the band beyond the UK, leading to sold-out shows across the country and extensive tours throughout Europe. Early in 2020, Laur Underwood departed from the group, prompting Rory and Troy to continue as a duo amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the difficult circumstances, they recorded their sophomore album during the summer of that year, demonstrating resilience and creative dedication.

Shortly after, the band expanded its lineup with the addition of drummer Luke Shaw, reinvigorating their live performances and propelling School Disco into a new phase of artistic growth. Today, School Disco remains a vital force within Plymouth’s thriving DIY music community, continuously pushing the boundaries of psychedelic and indie rock with their innovative sound and compelling stage presence.
