About Zazie

Isabelle de Truchis, better known by her stage name Zazie—a tribute to Raymond Queneau’s iconic novel—has become a pivotal figure in French music since her breakthrough in the early 1990s. Transitioning from a modeling career, she burst onto the scene in 1993 with the hit single "Sucré salé," which quickly established her as a distinctive voice in French chanson and pop. Over the years, Zazie has built an impressive discography with albums such as "Zen" (1995), "Made In Love" (1998), "La Zizanie" (2001), "Rodéo" (2004), and "Totem" (2007), each reflecting her artistic evolution and flair for blending clever wordplay, humor, and introspection.

As a gifted singer-songwriter, Zazie writes most of her material and has also penned lyrics for prominent artists like Florent Pagny, Johnny Hallyday, and Jane Birkin, solidifying her reputation as one of France’s most talented lyricists. Her tenth studio album, "Essenciel" (2018), released under the independent label 6&7, achieved platinum status, underscoring her lasting appeal. After a five-year hiatus, she returned in 2023 with the album "AIR," which continues to showcase her innovative approach to contemporary French pop and synthpop.

Zazie’s enduring career is marked by her ability to evolve musically while remaining deeply rooted in thoughtful storytelling, making her a beloved and influential artist within the francophone music landscape.
