About Dillinja

Dillinja is a seminal figure in the evolution of jungle and drum'n'bass music, emerging from Brixton in the early 1990s. Introduced to jungle by his neighbor, DJ Bryan G, he embarked on his recording career in 1991, quickly gaining recognition with releases on a diverse range of labels such as Cybotron, Intelligent IQ, Logic, and his own Deadly Vinyl imprint. Dillinja’s groundbreaking single "The Angels Fell" (1994), released on Goldie’s prestigious Metalheadz label, marked a turning point, establishing him as one of the genre’s leading producers.

Renowned for prioritizing studio innovation over live performances, Dillinja co-founded Valve Records alongside long-time collaborator Lemon D. This label became a platform for pushing drum'n'bass boundaries by integrating vintage analogue sequences, enriching the genre’s sonic palette. Despite securing a major deal with London Records, Dillinja’s full-length album was never released, yet he continued to make waves with standout singles on Test Records throughout the late 1990s.

Dillinja’s relentless dedication to production excellence and sonic experimentation has left an indelible mark on jungle and drum'n'bass music. His work remains highly influential, celebrated for its fierce energy, intricate basslines, and innovative sound design, securing his legacy as a true architect of modern electronic music.
