About Törzs

Törzs is a Budapest-based instrumental post-rock band that has been a distinctive presence in Hungary’s alternative music scene since their inception in 2015. Drawing on the rich traditions of post-rock, the band crafts expansive, atmospheric soundscapes defined by textured guitar layers, dynamic shifts, and emotionally charged crescendos—all without the use of vocals. Their music invites listeners into immersive, cinematic journeys, where each instrumental passage evokes deep emotional nuances and a communal sense of exploration, reflecting the meaning of their name, which translates to "tribe" or "trunk" in Hungarian.

Törzs has garnered recognition both nationally and across Europe, standing out with their evocative live performances that transform each show into a powerful narrative experience. Influenced by iconic acts like Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai, they have forged a unique identity shaped by Budapest’s cultural backdrop and Central European musical sensibilities. Over the years, their commitment to pushing the boundaries of instrumental rock has been showcased through growing discography releases and appearances at international festivals and tours. Törzs continues to prove that music without lyrics can communicate profound stories and emotions, securing their place as an innovative and authentic force within the contemporary post-rock genre.
