About Ángel Stanich

Ángel Stanich stands as one of the most distinctive voices in Spanish alternative rock, known for his poetic lyricism and boldly original sound. Emerging from Cantabria, Spain, he first gained attention with his debut album, *Camino Ácido* (2014). This record combined Americana influences with Beat Generation storytelling, featuring cult favorites like "Metralleta Joe" and "Miss Trueno ’89." His follow-up, *Antigua y Barbuda* (2017), deepened his surreal and satirical approach, weaving Iberian cultural references with sharp narratives in tracks such as "Mátame Camión" and "Un Día Épico."

In 2021, Ángel Stanich expanded his sonic palette with *Polvo de Battiato*, an album marked by baroque arrangements and diverse textures—from the George Harrison-inspired riffs of "La Historia Es Fácil" to genre-blending pieces like "El Arriero, Pt. 2," which fuses Mediterranean and Andean sounds. The album also featured the road movie anthem "Motel Consuelo," a notable collaboration with Nina de Juan of Morgan. His latest work, *Por La Hierba* (2026), showcases a mature artist at the height of his craft, delivering introspective and conceptually tight songs like "Carretera o Trueno" and "Super Gris."

Throughout his decade-long career, Ángel Stanich has maintained a cult status while continually evolving, refusing commercial compromise and solidifying his role as a masterful songwriter and enigmatic figure in contemporary Spanish music.
