About Aimer

Aimer is a celebrated Japanese singer-songwriter renowned for her distinctive husky yet sweet voice, a unique tone she developed after losing her ability to sing at the age of 15 due to vocal strain. This unexpected setback transformed into her trademark sound, captivating fans across Japan and around the world. She made her major debut in 2011 with the single "Rokutosei no yoru" ("Six Star Night"), quickly establishing herself as a fresh and compelling presence in the Japanese music scene.

Her breakthrough came with the release of her fourth album, "daydream" (2016), which included the popular track "Chouchou Musubi" ("Butterfly Knot"). The album topped iTunes charts in Japan and earned her a runner-up prize at the 2017 CD Shop Awards, solidifying her reputation as a leading artist in pop and rock genres. In 2019, Aimer achieved a significant milestone when her 16th single, "I beg you / Hanabira-tachi no March / Sailing," became her first to debut at number one on the Oricon weekly singles chart.

Aimer’s international acclaim grew through her contributions to anime soundtracks. Most notably, her song "Zankyosanka" became the opening theme for the second season of the global hit anime *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba* (2021). Marking a decade since her debut, she continues to innovate with releases like the mini-album "Deep down," which features the ending theme for the popular anime *Chainsaw Man*. Aimer’s evolving artistry and memorable collaborations have firmly established her as a defining voice in contemporary Japanese music.
