About STRFKR

STRFKR is an indie electronic and synth-pop band that originated in Portland, Oregon, in 2007 as a solo project by Joshua Hodges. Over time, the project expanded into a full-fledged quartet with members Keil Corcoran, Shawn Glassford, and Arian Jalali. Known for their infectious melodies and danceable beats, STRFKR combines thoughtful songwriting with engaging grooves, carving a unique niche in the indie music scene.

After releasing their debut album and an EP, STRFKR signed with Polyvinyl Records in 2010, marking a pivotal step in their artistic and commercial growth. Albums such as "Reptilians" (2011), "Miracle Mile" (2013), and "Being No One, Going Nowhere" (2016) not only showcased their evolving sound but also landed on various Billboard charts, helping the band gain wider recognition.

Instead of relying on traditional industry hype, STRFKR built their reputation through electrifying live performances and continuous sonic experimentation. Their music has featured in numerous films, television shows, and streaming platforms, broadening their audience further. Dedicated fans have also embraced the band’s Vault Series—a collection of three volumes filled with unreleased demos and outtakes that chronicle STRFKR’s creative journey.

More recently, the band’s 2023 album "Parallel Realms" highlights a more pop-forward approach infused with experimental tones and the softer textures that fans appreciated on 2020’s critically acclaimed "Future Past Life." With a persistent drive to push genre boundaries, STRFKR remains a standout force in modern synth-pop and indie electronic music.
