About La Yegros

La Yegros, often celebrated as Argentina’s Queen of Nu Cumbia, is a compelling force in contemporary South American music. Born in Buenos Aires to parents from Misiones—a province known for its rich folkloric traditions like chamamé, Carnavalito, and Colombian cumbia—she expertly fuses these native sounds with modern global influences. Her vibrant style combines the folkloric roots of her heritage with electronic beats and dancehall rhythms drawn from Argentina’s urban nightlife.

La Yegros burst onto the international scene with her debut album *La Yegros* (2012), propelled by the breakthrough single "Viene de Mí." Released globally in 2013, this track established her as a dynamic ambassador of Nu Cumbia and launched a decade-long celebration of her music, culminating in a milestone anniversary in 2022. Over the years, she has collaborated closely with longtime musical partners, continuously evolving her sound by blending traditional Latin American rhythms with innovative electronic elements.

Her most recent work marks a shift toward more introspective and sometimes poignant themes while retaining the infectious energy that defines her performances.
