About Coque Malla

Coque Malla stands as a pivotal figure in Spain’s rock and new wave scene, first rising to prominence as the charismatic frontman of the influential pop-rock band Los Ronaldos. Inspired by legendary artists like the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen, Malla helped shape the Spanish alternative music landscape through six critically acclaimed albums with the group. His songwriting and distinctive vocal style played a key role in defining the band’s energetic sound and cementing their place in Spain’s musical history.

In 1999, Coque Malla transitioned to a solo career with the release of his debut album, "Soy un Astronauta Más," which showcased his maturation as a songwriter. This work combined intimate storytelling with the raw rock sensibility cultivated during his years with Los Ronaldos, highlighting his versatility and artistic evolution. Beyond his solo projects, Malla collaborated with Alex Olmedo in the side project Las Mentiras, touring extensively across Spain and paying tribute to classic rock influences. This collaboration further demonstrated his deep appreciation for rock’s heritage and his ability to reinvent himself while honoring the genre’s roots.
