About Antony Szmierek

Manchester-based artist Antony Szmierek has swiftly established himself as a distinctive force within British music, blending spoken word poetry with rap, UK garage rhythms, and subtly psychedelic guitar textures. His evocative storytelling, centered on themes of love, hope, and aspiration, is delivered through a literate, world-wise lyrical style that balances tender romance with gritty realism. Szmierek’s optimistic narratives offer listeners reassurance and inspiration, resonating powerfully amid contemporary challenges.

In 2023, Antony Szmierek earned recognition as one of BBC 6 Music’s Artists of the Year, marking a breakthrough that included a sold-out debut UK headline tour and a memorable television debut on the iconic Later… With Jools Holland. Over eighteen months, he released two critically acclaimed EPs, *Poems To Dance To* (2022) and *Seasoning* (2023), which have garnered multiple A List singles on BBC 6 Music. His growing profile was further cemented with a Maida Vale session for BBC Radio 1’s Future Artists and daytime airplay as the station’s Introducing Track of the Week.

Hailed by respected publications such as NME, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, Time Out, and Clash, Antony Szmierek stands at the forefront of a new generation of British songwriters. Through his innovative fusion of spoken word and dance music influences, he inspires audiences by proving that creative dreams remain within reach.
