About Johnny Foreigner

Johnny Foreigner is a dynamic indie rock band originating from Birmingham, UK, known for their spirited sound and engaging live performances. Formed as a four-piece, the group consists of Alexei Berrow on guitar and lead vocals, Kelly Parker (née Southern) on bass and vocals, Junior Elvis Washington Laidley on drums, and Lewes Herriot, who contributes guitar alongside visual art. The band began their recording journey with a self-released project in 2005, quickly followed by their acclaimed debut album, "Waited Up 'til It Was Light" (2008), which firmly established their presence in the UK indie scene.

Over the years, Johnny Foreigner has crafted six studio albums, evolving their signature blend of sharp melodies and heartfelt lyrics. After the release of "Mono No Aware" (2016) and extensive touring, the band took a brief hiatus in mid-2020. Frontman Berrow left the door open for future projects, signaling ongoing creative potential. Revitalizing their energy in 2021, they returned with two expressive EPs—"Saved these Four Words till the End" and "The Sky and Sea were Part of Me (or I was Part of Them)"—culminating in the 2024 full-length album "How To Be Hopeful." Throughout their career, members have engaged with other notable indie acts like Yr Poetry, Fridge Poetry, and Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam, enriching their artistic depth.

Johnny Foreigner remains a celebrated fixture in alternative music, continually connecting with loyal fans and new listeners through their emotionally resonant and vibrant indie rock sound.
