About Turma do Pagode

Turma do Pagode is a Brazilian samba group that originated in São Paulo around 2000, quickly becoming an influential presence in the city’s vibrant pagode scene. Known for their engaging performances in intimate settings such as backyards and neighborhood bars, the band built a loyal following by blending traditional samba rhythms with contemporary melodies. Over the years, their sound has maintained a perfect balance between nostalgic roots and fresh innovation.

The group’s lineup features talented musicians including Leiz (tantã and vocals), Caramelo (banjo and vocals), Rubinho (pandeiro and vocals), Marcelinho TDP (cavaquinho and vocals), Leandro Filé (guitar and vocals), Fabiano Art (surdo), Neni Art (repique de mão, pandeiro, cuíca), and Thiago (reco-reco). Signed to Sony Music, Turma do Pagode’s growing popularity helped them become a staple in Brazilian samba, celebrated for their authentic approach and musical versatility.

Marking their 20th anniversary in 2020, the group planned a special audiovisual recording that was postponed due to the pandemic. Instead, they adapted by recording the live album "Turma no Quintal," captured in October before a limited outdoor audience at Vila dos Ingleses in São Paulo. This project, featuring nine original songs alongside medleys of beloved hits, beautifully recaptured the warmth and spontaneity of their early performances. Continually thriving in the samba landscape, Turma do Pagode remains a dynamic force, celebrated for their enduring musical legacy and vibrant sound.
