About The Black Keys

The Black Keys, formed in Akron, Ohio, in 2001, are the acclaimed rock duo of guitarist and vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. Drawing deep inspiration from blues legends like Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside, they initially carved their niche with raw, gritty garage rock. Their early albums, *The Big Come Up* (2002) and *Thickfreakness* (2003)—remarkably recorded in just 14 hours—garnered underground buzz and set the stage for their breakthrough with *Rubber Factory* (2004). This album, noted for its authentic sound and the memorable music video for "10 A.M. Automatic" starring David Cross, elevated their profile through critical acclaim and relentless touring.

A significant evolution in their sound occurred after partnering with producer Danger Mouse, beginning with *Attack & Release* (2008), which infused experimental textures into their blues rock roots. The collaboration reached a peak with *Brothers* (2010), an album that launched mainstream hits like "Tighten Up" and "Howlin’ for You" and earned three Grammy Awards. Their momentum continued with the platinum-certified *El Camino* (2011), featuring the chart-topping single "Lonely Boy," and the psychedelic-tinged *Turn Blue* (2014), which debuted at number one on the charts.

After an extended hiatus, The Black Keys returned with the straightforward rock energy of *Let's Rock* (2019), followed by the blues homage *Delta Kream* (2021). Their most recent release, *Ohio Players* (2024), showcases ongoing artistic growth through collaborations with notable musicians like Beck, Noel Gallagher, and Billy F. Gibbons. Throughout their career, The Black Keys have masterfully balanced vintage influences with modern innovation, cementing their place as enduring icons in contemporary rock music.
