About Fixi

Fixi, born François-Xavier Bossard, is a renowned French musician and composer celebrated for his innovative mastery of the accordion. Classically trained in drums, piano, and trombone, Fixi embarked on his professional career at just 17 years old. His eclectic style spans a rich fusion of genres including hip-hop-musette, reggae, funk, afrobeat, maloya, and rock, reflecting his deep musical curiosity and versatility.

Fixi first gained widespread recognition as a key contributor to the French band Java, where his inventive accordion work helped define their distinctive sound. Over the years, he has collaborated with a diverse array of artists such as Sinclair, legendary Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen, Alexis HK, and -M-. His longstanding partnership with Jamaican singer Winston McAnuff stands out, notably on the critically acclaimed albums "A New Day" (2013) and "Big Brothers" (2018). These works highlight Fixi’s skillful blending of styles and his commitment to pushing musical boundaries.

Beyond albums and live performances, Fixi has also made significant contributions to film music, composing the soundtrack for the 2016 French film "La Fille du Patron." Continually evolving, Fixi’s inventive approach to the accordion and genre fusion keeps him at the forefront of both the French and international music scenes, captivating audiences with every new project.
