Sannie Carlson, widely known by her stage name Whigfield, is a Danish-born pop-dance icon who rose to international fame in the mid-1990s. Her breakthrough came in 1994 with the release of "Saturday Night," a single that made history by debuting directly at number one on the UK Singles Chart—a feat recognized by Guinness World Records. The infectious dance track not only sold over a million copies worldwide but also sparked a signature dance routine that became a global phenomenon.

Building on this momentum, Whigfield released several successful singles such as "Another Day" and "Think of You," both of which secured top 10 chart positions across multiple countries. Her single "Sexy Eyes" achieved platinum status in Australia and reached the top 20 in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, reinforcing her widespread appeal. Her debut album, *Whigfield 1* (1995), earned gold certifications in Canada, the Philippines, and India, along with platinum status in South Africa.
