About GusGus

GusGus, the renowned Icelandic electronic collective, has been a vital force in the music world for nearly three decades. Founded in Reykjavík, the group is anchored by producer Biggi Veira and vocalist Daníel Ágúst, who have steered a dynamic, rotating lineup of talented musicians throughout their journey. Originally gaining cult status with their pioneering downtempo sound, GusGus evolved into one of electronic music’s most celebrated live acts, mastering a unique blend of analog synth craftsmanship and cosmic pop sensibilities.

Over the years, GusGus has delivered a string of essential club anthems while continuously pushing creative boundaries. Their tenth studio album, "Dance O’rama" (2021), marks a bold exploration of a nostalgic yet futuristic rave universe—a “rave-mall” where traditional genres and identities dissolve. This record follows 2019’s "Mobile Home," expanding on techno-pop and new wave influences with vibrant, melodically rich compositions. The addition of singer Margrét Rán, known from the band Vök, adds fresh vocal energy, enhancing their immersive soundscape.

Celebrated as Iceland’s premier electronic export, GusGus remains a global staple in dance music.
