About The Murder Capital

The Murder Capital is a critically acclaimed Irish post-punk band formed in Dublin, known for their intense energy and raw, urgent sound. The quintet—vocalist James McGovern, guitarists Cathal "Pump" Roper and Damien "Irv" Tuit, bassist Gabriel "GPB" Paschal Blake, and drummer Diarmuid Brennan—has gained recognition for their evocative songwriting and brooding atmospheres. Their work captures a blend of vivid introspection and charged momentum that resonates beyond geographic and temporal boundaries.

In 2023, The Murder Capital released their striking third studio album, "Blindness," recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy-winning producer John Congleton. The album reflects the band's evolution and creative growth, enriched by the members’ physical dispersion across Europe—McGovern and Tuit in London, Roper in Donegal, Blake in Letterkenny, and Brennan in Berlin. This geographical spread brought fresh perspectives that deepened their songwriting, resulting in a collection marked by urgency, complexity, and renewed artistic ambition.
