About Paulinho Moska

Paulinho Moska is a distinguished Brazilian singer-songwriter and actor who rose to prominence during the 1990s by skillfully blending MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) with contemporary pop influences. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Moska began his musical journey at age thirteen, studying guitar under the guidance of André Abujamra from the band Karnak. His early artistic ventures included acting roles in notable Brazilian films such as "A Cor do seu Destino," "Um Trem Para as Estrelas," and "Kuarup," showcasing his versatile talent.

In the mid-1980s, Moska joined the acclaimed vocal group Garganta Profunda, which led to the formation of the band Inimigos do Rei in 1987. The group gained commercial success with their 1989 debut album on CBS, featuring memorable hits like "Uma Barata Chamada Kafka" and "Adelaide." After departing Inimigos do Rei in 1992, Moska embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album "Vontade" (1993). He achieved national recognition with his follow-up album "Pensar é Fazer Música" (1995), highlighted by the hit single "O Último Dia," which topped charts and became the theme song for the soap opera "O Fim Do Mundo."

Between 1994 and 1999, Moska released five solo albums in which he continued to innovate, blending samba and diverse musical styles to craft a distinctive sound. His collaborations stand out, including tracks like "Último Dia" with Billy Brandão, "Me Chama de Chão" with Branco Mello and Fernando Zarif, and "A Seta e o Alvo" featuring Nilo Romero. Paulinho Moska remains a pivotal figure in Brazilian music, celebrated for his creative fusion of traditional and modern sounds.
